<glossarycode>
I am currently setting up a network of health-related websites and linking them together, and felt like sharing a few strategies about how you can create similar networks.

The basic idea is that you link various blogs together, but you create no reciprocal links. This way, all your links are one-way links, which are what you want when doing SEO. You also setup various web 2.0 sites, such as Squidoo, Wetpaint and Wordpress.com, and link them to your blogs using one way links. You can also link the various 2.0 sites together if you want to. You can also start to social bookmark all the sites in your network to give them even more link juice.

The purpose is to create a link network with as many one-way link as possible leading to the CPA Offer, and also building up the link power of one particular alpha blog (In this case, Blog B).

Now, all sites can link directly to your CPA Offer. I recommend that you purchase a domain name that is related to the offer, and use Domain Forwarding (which sends all traffic to that domain directly to the CPA offer instead). If you use Godaddy, this is very easy to do. Just click on the domain and choose forward. All the links will be directed to that particular domain you own, and redirected to the offer you wish to promote. If that particular offer you are promoting gets cancelled, just forward the domain to a similar offer.

First you need to get yourself a decent SEO host (or have accounts with different hosting providers). If you want to link your own sites together in the hope of getting SEO juice, you have to host your blogs on different C-Class IPs with different Nameservers. If this is too technical for you, ask the almighty Google to fill you inn. I will go into more depth about this when I get the various sections here up and running.

It goes without saying that you need to have unique content on all these sites. I would also recommend that you have different sorts of content; reviews, related articles and so on. And that all the content you create have the keyword that you want to rank for as anchor text in the links.

Hopefully you got something out of this. This is a strategy that demands a fair share of work. If none of this make sense, don’t worry about it. Do what you do! This is only one way of making a few bucks online.
</glossarycode>

I’m currently cashing in on product launches. My strategy? Pay attention to what is about to be launched, join as an affiliate, set up shitloads of websites and review sites, link them together, and baaaam. Come launch day you hope for as much traffic you can get!

Also, its important to create one in-depth review that sounds plausible. Then link all the sites to that site AND directly to the product site (using a redirect service like hopurl or smt…). DONT cross-link the various sites you make. Just set up one way link between them, with all of them linking to the main review (use a blogger account or whatever for this… you can even register a domain name and setup a website that is dedicated to reviewing this product).

For instance, I have made nine recurring affiliate sales this month from one website, which makes me somewhere around $400 in recurring commissions. Really pleased! It remains to see how long these customers stay a member. On average, it’s three months or so… Looking forward to see the long-term results!

Best of all; I only use organic traffic for this product. No PPC at all.

“If you must be in a hurry, then let it be according to the old adage, and hasten slowly.”
~Saint Vincent de Paul

We are an impatient lot.

When we start a new project, things cannot happen too fast. Everything is a race. We constantly check Google to see if our site has been indexed. We post our articles in a rush, failing to actually produce well-researched quality content. There is a need for speed, and we suffer from it.

In my own marketing efforts I constantly fall into this trap of artificial urgency. If I cannot see direct results today, then I become annoyed. Failing to accomplish what should really be long-term goals in the shortest time span possible leads to disillusionment. The sad conclusion that many projects are abandoned before they even get a chance to prove themselves.

So What Is The Answer?

Take your time. Slow down and *break* down your lofty goals into manageable units. Plan each unit carefully in advance. Don’t start working in front of your computer if you are not absolutely certain what you need to do. If you are going to submit an article, write down each element of it before you even consider going near eZineArticles or similar services. Plan your titles, write your resource box, and so on. Take your time. And when you submit your article, consider that a goal in itself. Then you move on to another goal. Given time, your loftier goals will manifest themselves.

Build your house one brick at a time.

Slow Down.

<glossarycode>
Looking for a new host? Then you have probably faced the dreaded Gator already. Hostgator is recommended in all dark corners of the Internet. Sure, there are some brave contenders, such as Bluehost and Midphase, but the überhost of hosts eats them alive.

How did this Tyrannosaurus Host came to rule the Internet? The company isn’t really that old. It was founded in 2002 by Brent Oxley, who actually started the whole thing from his dorm room at Florida Atlantic University. That guy must have done something right, that’s for sure. I’ll get into that now.Why do so many recommend Hostgator? Excellent hosting plans? Unbeatable prices? Captivating female staff? Complementary microwave? I think not, although I might be wrong about that. Anyhow, the reason everyone recommends them is probably because they have a high converting affiliate program. I do the same. I promote things with affiliate programs. I also suspect that that this affilaite program is one of the reasons for Hostgator’s massive success. Also, promoting Hostgator hosting is like promoting Amazon products. The brand itself sells because it’s trusted and seen everywhere.

Now for some shocking info…

I don’t have a Hostgator account! I used to have one, though. It’s a decent host, but it will not raise the dead. There are many hosts that can provide the same features at a better price, and others that provide better customer support. One company I use, SLhost, usually reply within minutes to any support tickets I throw their way, and fix everything I ask of them before my coffee gets gold. I use other hosts as well, one of them being SeoHost, that I use to expand my network of websites. This SEO hosting service provide you with separate c-class IPs and unique name servers for half the price that Hostgator’s own SEO hosting service (And I have never had a single problem with them to this day). they take a bit longer to respond, and are not so nice as the SLhost guys, but they are worth it nontheless.

But.,, Bigger is Better!

That’s the mentality that magically draws us towards the megamalls and franchised stores. Somehow, we believe that where everyone goes, we should go too. Because if everyone goes there, the reason must be that it rocks!

Not necessarily. In these financial challenged times, I believe that it’s just as well to host with small companies that has a proven track record. After all, if a company like Hostgator would go bust, I can only imagine of the chaos that would lead to. On the other hand, if a lesser host went out of business, I have a feeling that it would be a far less traumatic affair for everyone involved.

Think about it this way. When a small hosting company bites the dust, there are always a bigger player who takes over the customers. But what happens when the biggest of them all fall?
</glossarycode>

I just visited a famous online marketing forum the other day, and read about the next black death. It’s called “forced continuity” and if you believe what you read, the devil himself is the architect.

Some people almost spontaneously combust when they hear these two words next to each other. Why all the fuzz? This is a brilliant strategy. You sell stuff cheap that people want. You also sell them another product that happens to be recurring. You let the great deal you get blind you from the small print that says that you got more than you bargained for. Cool! And when you learn the truth, you must actually call someone to cancel. Scary scary phone.

I have fallen “victim” to this model myself. I ordered Stomping the Search Engines 2, not actually knowing that I signed up for more than I bargained for. My fault. If I had bothered reading the order page, I would know this. Anyway, I’m quite pleased with the Net Effects magazine, so I keep on getting it, and reading it, and learning new stuff each month. If it sucked I would just call in and say “stop sending me that crappy magazine.. thanks.. have a nice day.. yes, you too.”

Stop behaving like the victim of some unfathomable crime and learn something from this instead.

Since PPC Kahuna is about to launch in two weeks time, I decided to promote the system.

Currently I am ranking at:

#1 for “ppc kahuna reviews”

#1 for “ppckahuna reviews”

#5 for “ppc kahuna”

#6 for “ppckahuna”

I don’t think there will be any substantial affiliate income here. Most of the leads and sales will come from mailing list advertising. But my plan is that people might search for a review before they sign up, and then, after reading what I have to say, decides to join. But that is beside the point… The point is how I did it

I got a domain name (http://www.ppckahunareviews.com), made a simple page using Dreamweaver, and wrote a review (which is a bit too infomercial I think). Anyway…

Then I copied the product information from the Affiliate area and created about 10 different versions using spinner software.

I submitted these articles to Hubpages, Wordpress, Wetpaint, and some other “web 2.0″ sites. All of these articles contained links to my review page with the anchor text “ppckahuna review”, “ppc kahuna review”, “ppc kahuna” and “ppckahuna”. After I had submitted these articles, I pinged the RSS feeds for those sites were this was an opinion.

Then I submitted the content through traffickahuna (a paid service that syndicates your content and is delivered by the same folks that is launching ppc kahuna. IMHO great stuff) to about 20 other blogs in the network. As above, I linked to my review sites.

I used bookmarkingdemon and bookmarked all the sites that I had submitted to.

That’s it. Not a lot of traffic comming in, but I will keep an eye on the stats as launch day approaches.

Edit Apr 23: I still keep my head above water - nearly two months down the line.

People who haven’t gotten caught up in the educational system, tend to understand that things must be done instad of studied to death. Since I have spent about 18 years in the educational system, it’s hard to view internet marketing as something else than something to be studied. So I read a lot of books, pick up new courses, try to LEARN everything.

Does this ressonate with you?

There is reason why (too) many success stories online are about the “High-School Dropout Who Killed Google and annihilated Clickbank for $5 343 234 in commissions in one swift stroke without being able to spell his name” and the “Man with AD/HD who made a million bucks in two minutes just by clicking extremely fast on the left mouse button”.

Sure, most of these stories are bullshit anyway, but you get the idea.

My impression is that people who haven’t gotten caught up in the educational system tend to understand that things must be done instead of studied to death. Since I have spent about 18 years in the educational system, it has been hard to shred the “study” mentality, and take the step from learning to doing.

Does this resonate with you? If it does, what have we learned from reading this mediocre post? A business isn’t about learning. It’s about implementing knowledge.

Big difference.
